Why Are Natural African-American Hairstyles Professionally Controversial?

  1. I think it's jealousy, intimidation and admiration all combined. I don't think certain races r comfortable with our being comfortable. I think the beauty and naturalness of our hair and styles may represent to certain people rebellion towards authority. Though our culture, style, talent and creativity is negated by certain cultures/races, deep down they love it and want to embrace it themselves. I think it's all based on fear.

  2. I totally agree with you. It is fear. Fear that when a person or group of people are proud of who they are; you can't control them. It behooves me that non-blacks will put their health in danger and risk their lives in order to get fuller lips, darker skin, and bigger buttocks. All of the very same characteristics that we were told for hundreds of years were ugly.
