The Coil Review .com - Natural Hair New Year Commercial - Vers 2.1

Women of color are a unique breed. We come in all different shades, starting from the lightest of vanilla to the darkest of chocolate.  Our hair is unique.  We are in the board room and the operating room.  Sistas are  doing it for themselves. We have the choice to wear our hair relaxed or natural.  The operative word is "CHOICE."  However, while we have the choice and freedom to rock a curly fro, or a straight doobee, sometimes one choice my not be accepted by others.

At one time, women of color couldn't wear braids in corporate America.  Now we rock, a twa, twists, locks, braids and still can get the job done.  I have heard some people express that natural hair is not as polished looking as relaxed hair.  Says who????  We must get out of the mentality that our hair in its natural state is not beautiful.  Since we are a unique breed, we do not fit the cookie cutter image of women portrayed in the media and by society. Yes, I had relaxed hair and it was beautiful.  It was beautiful because it was healthy and  I always gave it TLC.  I do the same with my natural hair.  While going natural my not be for all, at least we can show each other some sisterly support  by being an advocate to promote healthy hair and positive images of all women of color.
